100% Irish linen
Irish linen is a premium material with a weave different from traditional linen: it’s thicker and heavier, therefore less prone to creasing. It’s naturally durable with thermoregulatory properties.
Its cultivation consumes few nutrients from the soil, leaving it healthy, and the entire plant gets used after harvesting. This linen has been produced by the Baird McNutt mill in Kells, in business since 1798. They combine traditional methods with cutting-edge machinery 100% powered by green energy.
Care
We recommend dry cleaning, as noted on the label. Each coat is delicate in its own way: a faithful companion that we expose to our daily adventures.
When not being worn, the coat should be kept on a strong and sturdy coat hanger with the pockets emptied so that the sleeves, shoulders and pockets are not distorted.
If it has been worn in the rain, let it air dry once inside, ensuring it is kept away from heat sources so the fabric stays fresh and new.
Design and construction
We reinterpret timeless historic designs with an artisanal approach: using small Italian businesses to produce just a few garments at a time. This double-breasted jacket has been designed for city style that sports the Made in Italy stamp.
As per tradition, it has peak lapels that point upwards to form an almost perfect V-shape, outlining the shoulders and waist.
The shape of the half-lining we call tulip-shaped. We’ve also used it for the inner finishings: the pocket and the bias.
The pockets are attached to the fabric with extreme precision, to ensure a uniform design.
It has two rear vents, giving you room to move.
Our packaging
We’ve carefully designed our packaging, selecting sustainable materials in order to reduce waste and make the packing process easier for our artisans.
The cardboard is fully recycled and recyclable, as is the twine and packing tissue. Depending on your purchase, you’ll also find one or more cotton bags for your convenience: reuse them for home and wardrobe storage, or for organizing your things when going away on trips.
Made in Italy
We put time and care into selecting the fabrics we use and the companies we work with. In Italy, each region has its own area of expertise. It’s like a huge open-air workshop. This piece of outerwear has been made in Riese Pio X, in the Treviso province. Luciano’s company began as a small tailoring business 38 years ago. Today he still guards and imparts the same values.
